Let me walk you through what it was like giving our very first scholarship.
We’d been dreaming about this moment since Cruiz’n Cole became a nonprofit. The goal was simple: give back to the youth who are passionate about the automotive industry. But as it turns out, there’s nothing simple about handing someone a $5,000 check that could shape the rest of their life.

John Thrash didn’t know it was coming.
He thought we were just stopping by to shoot some cool cars at the shop where he works after school. That’s his world—wrenches, metal, and motion. And on this day, it became the backdrop for a moment we’ll never forget.

We brought his family in quietly—mom, dad, grandparents—all waiting behind the scenes. We had our camera rolling and our hearts pounding. When we handed him the check, John looked stunned. Not in a showy way. Just… quietly moved. It was like he couldn’t quite believe it was for him.
